Dolphins Maritime Consultants

   Dolphins Maritime Consultants was formed in June 2003 and located in Wuhan, Hubei Province in China.

   We are engaged mainly in the development and training of Chinese seafarers in raising their English competency as well as other developing other qualities in order to meet the requirements of ship-owners Our motto is “Customer is God and Quality is life.”

   There are over 500,000 Chinese seafarers in active employment to day, of which about 180,000 of them are ocean-going seafarers and the rest serving on domestic ships.  However, less than 50,000 of them are serving on ships owned by foreign ship-owners.  With generally good technical skills and at competitive wage levels, the main obstacles for foreign ship-owners employing Chinese seafarers are their poor English ability and the lack of other key intangible qualities.

   Our English teaching staff have solid experience in teaching Chinese seafarers and our course planners understand the needs of foreign ship-owners.  We offer programs ranging from standard China MSA courses, foreign syllabus like Marlin English, as well as tailor-made courses for ship-owners’ specific requirements.

   As we realize that growing number of ship owners are more concerned about the work attitudes and level of responsibility of Chinese seafarers, we therefore not only concentrate on English skills training but also on behavioral training of seafarers, enhancement of professional ethics, and improving the attitudes of Chinese seafarers in general.  Courses on behavioral training aim to improve work attitudes, loyalty, honesty, responsibility, social tolerance, adaptability and cultivating a multinational mindset to work in cooperation with seafarers from other nations.  We also offer Maritime Resources Management courses to develop enhance officers' management ability. 

   Our training programs are conducted in Wuhan at our training center but we also have a mobile unit allow us to conduct courses in other cities in China depending on customer needs.

Facilities

   We have currently 2 classrooms and a language laboratory and will add

   2 more classrooms and a multi-media conference room in third quarter of 2003.

   The language laboratory is equipped with 15 computers providing computer-based-training for the courses offered in addition to traditional classroom lectures and tutorials.

Wuhan International Maritime English Center

   Dolphins Maritime Consultants has cooperation with Wuhan Changjiang International Seafarer Training Center in maritime English training. The aim of this project is to combine the advantages of both organisations to create a premier maritime English training center in China.
